Due to the flooding in Thailand there is a Hard Drive shortage on the manufacturer level. Market experts predict it will take between 4-6 months for the market to stabilize. Some manufacturers have introduced surcharges to supplement the rising cost of the available Hard Drives. Some of our DVRs reflect that surcharge as a price increase. Stock issues have arisen with many manufacturers as well. Please call one of our sales representatives to be sure the product you are looking for is currently available.

Plenum

Non-Plenum
Non-Plenum

What is the difference between Plenum and Non-Plenum? Plenum or Non-Plenum wire refers to the outside insulation used on the wire. Non-Plenum wire uses a standard PVC plastic for the insulation; plenum wire has special plastic insulation around it which, in case of a fire, has special nontoxic fume characteristics. Plenum wire typically is double the cost of non-plenum wire. Safety considerations, as well as building and fire codes, will determine the use of plenum or non-plenum wire.

What is direct burial wire? Direct burial cable is made of special UV and weather-resistant material that will withstand years of above and underground outdoor exposure. In general, a direct burial cable is one in which the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the cable will not substantially degrade over time once the cable has been installed. It is assumed that these cables will be in moist environments.
